Here's another shot of the rear of the truck before I got the frame cleaned up and primed. One thing I did learn from this project, if nothing else, I do hate undercoating.
And this is the engine bay, less the 2.0. The exhaust system bolts were too rusted to remove, so I left the exhaust manifold there until I could get the whole system off. It all went to the scrap yard with the engine itself after it had given up a couple more parts.
The next installment of pictures were taken after the engine came back from the machine shop.
The 116,000 mile engine block. The only difference between this and the 2.3 that was originally installed in the Rangers (which itself differed only in bore from the 2.0 I pulled out) is the oil drain line fitting on the passenger side of the block (and can't be seen in this shot).
The crankshaft, another part shared between the turbo and naturally aspirated (N/A) engines.
